SWISHER, IA - A woman died and a man was hospitalized following a residential fire in Swisher early Wednesday morning, CBS 2 reports.
The fire broke out at about 5:19 a.m. at a home within the 1700 block of Derby Avenue Northwest. Investigators say the blaze was contained to the second floor of the home.
Two people were evacuated from the house. One woman, age 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 38-year-old man was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
It is unclear at this time what may have sparked the blaze.
