COULTER, IA - A woman from Des Moines died following a multi-vehicle crash in Franklin County last Friday.
According to a report by KCZE, the crash occurred at about 3 p.m. along I-35, just outside of Coulter.
Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Trax crossed the center line for unknown reasons and slammed head-on into a southbound Freightliner. The Chevrolet then crashed into a ditch and caught fire, killing the 48-year-old female driver.
It is unclear if the truck driver suffered any injuries as a result of the crash.
