News: Driver arrested for DUI after crashing into bridge in Swisher

SWISHER, IA - A woman from Cedar Rapids was taken into custody following a single-vehicle crash in Swisher last Wednesday night.

According to KCJJ, the crash occurred on August 25th when a 2020 Toyota Rav4 slammed into the bridge near Swisher View Drive and 2nd Street.

The 38-year-old female driver told police she swerved to avoid hitting a dog and hit the bridge. She was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated after showing signs of impairment at the scene.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
