BETTENDORF, IA - A driver attempted to flee police after crashing into a hotel in Bettendorf early Saturday morning, WQAD reports.
The crash occurred when the 25-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of 12th Street and State Street.
Police believe the driver hit a street lame at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to spin out and crash into the City Center Motel. He then attempted to flee on foot up the bridge to I-74 and was tased by police.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. He was subsequently released and arrested on a number of charges related to the incident.
