News: Mt. Vernon trucking accident leaves 1 dead

MOUNT VERNON, IA - One person was killed following a major head-on collision involving a semi-truck in Linn County Saturday morning.

According to KCRG, the crash took place at about 9:55 a.m. along Highway 1 when the driver of a southbound Toyota Camry crossed the center lines and crashed head-on into a semi-truck heading north.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured as a result of the crash.
