News: Rider seriously injured after crashing stolen motorcycle in Des Moines

DES MOINES, IA - A motorcyclist remains in critical condition following a major crash on MLK Jr. Parkway on Sunday afternoon.

According to KCCI, the incident occurred at about 3:44 p.m. when the 40-year-old male motorcyclist was weaving in and out of traffic near Francis Avenue.

Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Impala, a 20-year-old woman, turned left onto MLK Jr. Pkwy. into the path of the motorcyclist, who crashed into the passenger side.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No one in the vehicle was injured.

Further investigation proved the man was riding a stolen motorcycle at the time of the crash.
