News Update: 1 teen killed, another injured after vehicle vs. train crash in Waterloo

WATERLOO, IA - One teen died and another suffered serious injuries after their vehicle was struck by a train in northeastern Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

According to a report by KITV, the 18-year-old driver entered the railroad crossing along Canfield Road at the same time as the train, causing the two to collide.

Both the driver and her 15-year-old sister were rushed to a local hospital. The 15-year-old was subsequently flown to a hospital in Iowa City, where she died a short time later.
