News Update: Suspect arrested following Cedar Rapids hit-and-run

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The suspect believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run collision that left a motorcyclist seriously injured in Cedar Rapids has been arrested.

According to KWWL, the crash took place on August 15th when the driver of a Ford Focus crashed into a motorcyclist near Blairs Ferry Road and C Avenue Northeast.

The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital to be treated for a serious head injury. The suspect behind the wheel of the Ford fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The suspect was located later on and arrested on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Injury, Driving While Barred, Failure to Yield Upon Left Turn, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
