News: West Burlington man killed in motorcycle crash on US-34

WEST BURLINGTON, IA - A man suffered fatal injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck on US-34 Sunday evening.

According to The Hawk Eye, the crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup crashed into the rear of the motorcycle near Gear Avenue.

The drier of the pickup was able to get his vehicle under control and onto the shoulder of the roadway.

The motorcyclist was ejected after crashing off the side of the roadway and into a ditch. He was rushed to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospital, where he died a short time later.

An investigation into the fatal crash is being conducted by the Iowa State Patrol.
