HAMILTON COUNTY, IA - A woman was killed Wednesday night after an SUV slammed into the rear of a tow truck in the Ames area.
According to KIMT, the crash happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-35, near mile marker 141.
Troopers with the Iowa State Patrol say the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries in the crash. However, his female passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
