Shortly before 2:30 p.m., emergency responders with multiple agencies were called to the intersection of Franklin Street and Grubbs Street, where a Nissan Versa had struck a Freightliner struck while attempting to make a turn. Deputies with the Linn County Sheriff's Office believe the Versa's driver was distracted by a previous crash in the area.
The 55-year-old woman driving the Versa was hospitalized alongside her 57-year-old male passenger with minor injuries. Both had been wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
