News: 2 teens killed in Marion Co. rollover crash

MARION CO., IA - Two teenage girls suffered fatal injuries in a rollover crash in rural Marion County last night.

According to a report by KCCI, the crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on 80th Avenue just east of the town of Melcher-Dallas.

Troopers say a 16-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle as it crested a hill, causing it to hit a ditch and overturn. Both she and her 16-year-old female passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The two teens were pronounced dead at the scene.

Crash reports suggest neither girl was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
