News: Boy struck, killed while riding bike in Le Mars

LE MARS, IA - A 10-year-old boy was fatally struck by a vehicle as he was riding his bike on the west side of Le Mars on Tuesday, KTIV reports.

A Toyota Carolla was traveling north in the 100 block of 5th Avenue SW at about 5:10 p.m. when it collided with the child. The driver, a 21-year-old Le Mars man, told authorities that the boy pedaled in front of him from the right side of the block, which intersects with a residential road.

The boy was rushed to an area hospital, where he died.
