News: Car catches fire after crashing into Ankeny home

ANKENY, IA - A home in Ankeny was destroyed after a vehicle crashed into the building and caught fire early Monday morning.

According to KCRG, the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. when the vehicle slammed into the livingroom of a townhome on Southeast Mallard Creek Drive.

The car then caught fire, which quickly spread to the house. The home is now considered a total loss due to smoke and water damage.

Two juveniles were seen jumping out of the vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot. No arrests have been made at the time of this writing.
