DES MOINES, IA - A suspect was arrested following a stolen vehilce chase and crash in Des Moines last night.
According to a report by WOI, the vehicle, which had a 4-year-old child in the back seat, was stolen from a convenience store parking lot near 42nd Street and University Avenue at about 6 p.m.
Shortly after the vehicle was reported stolen, the child was found abandoned and unhurt on 47th Street.
Police located the vehicle a short time later and a chase ensued. The vehicle then crashed on Martin Luther King Parkway near Bennett Avenue.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody shortly after. Their identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
