News: Vehicle fire affects traffic on I-35 in Ames

AMES, IA - Drivers in the Ames area were faced with delays following a vehicle fire on I-35 late Tuesday morning.

According to a report by Iowa 511, the crash took place shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Exit 102 to IA-210, just south of the South Skunk River.

It is unclear at this time what may have sparked the blaze. However, no injuries were reported immediately following the incident.

At least one right lane was blocked for just under an hour while crews worked to extinguish the blaze and clear the roadway.
