CENTERVILLE, IA - A woman was flown to the hospital after she was found in an overturned vehicle in the Chariton River early this morning.
According to the Ottumwa Courier, the 29-year-old driver lost control of her 2007 Chevrolet Equinox while driving on IA-2, causing it to veer off of the Chariton River Bridge. The vehicle then struck a tree and rolled into the water below, coming to rest on its roof.
First responders located the woman a short time later. She was extricated and flown to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center with unknown injuries.
