DAVENPORT, IA - Firefighters in Davenport responded to a van that caught fire on the city's east side late yesterday morning, Our Quad Cities reports.

Davenport Fire was called to the area of East Locust Street and College Avenue sometime before 11:40 a.m. on July 21 after receiving reports of what sounded like fireworks. However, they believe the sounds were actually caused a metal item in the vehicle responding to the extreme heat.
