IOWA CITY, IA - Police arrested a Warsaw, IL man early yesterday morning after he collided with a light pole on the north side of Iowa City, KCJJ reports.
Officers were called to the 300 block of North Madison Street shortly after 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28. They arrived to find a 30-year-old man slumped over the steering wheel of a 2001 Chevrolet with Florida plates, which had collided with a light pole. The vehicle was still running, and the man smelled of alcohol and was wearing wristbands from local bars.
He said he had been drinking, and was found to have a BAC of .124. He has been charged with OWI, first offense.
