MAHASKA CO., IA - A garbage truck struck and killed a 58-year-old man from Indiana on a stretch of highway near Eddyville Friday afternoon, KTVO reports.
The Amboy, IN resident was headed north on US-63 at 4:30 p.m. on July 16, when when his vehicle was struck by a garbage truck that did not yield him the right of way as it was traveling east on 310th Street. His vehicle became trapped beneath the truck, killing him and injuring his 56-year-old male passenger.
The garbage truck's driver was not hurt in the crash. It is unclear whether he will face criminal charges.
