BETTENDORF, IA - A man was killed yesterday when he struck an SUV that was making a left-hand turn in front of his motorcycle, WQAD reports.
The 33-year-old Davenport man was riding his 2015 Kawasaki EX300 east in the 4400 block of State Street when the driver of a westbound 2015 Nissan Rogue attempted to make a left-hand turn in front of him. The vehicles collided, throwing the motorcyclist onto the roadway.
Emergency responders rushed the man to an area hospital, where he died. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Neither the 47-year-old woman driving the Nissan nor her passenger was injured.
Authorities believe the motorcyclist's speed may have played a role in the fatal collision. Further investigations are ongoing.
