News: Plane crash in Muscatine County kills at least 2

MUSCATINE CO., IA - At least two people were killed when a private airplane crashed in northern Muscatine County yesterday afternoon, Siouxland Proud reports.

The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the potential crash after the Quad Cities International Airport lost contact with the flight during inclement weather. The MCSO eventually found the downed aircraft near the intersection of Iowa Highway 38 and 170th Street.

One person was found dead at the site. A second fatality was confirmed later that afternoon.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are both said to be investigating.
