DES MOINES, IA - Two people were injured yesterday afternoon when a police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a major crash in northwest Des Moines.
Local 5 News reports that a truck which had been reported stolen collided with a utility pole in the area of Hickman Road and 44th Street at about 3 p.m. on Thursday. The pickup drove away from the scene and evaded police for several blocks, before slamming into a vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Hickman.

A chain-reaction crash followed, ultimately damaging five vehicles.
The driver of the stolen truck was ejected from the vehicle, and was taken to an area hospital alongside one other individual. Neither person's injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
The intersection was closed until about 5:20 p.m.
