CLIVE, IA - A woman was extricated from her SUV following a collision with a box truck near I-80 and US-6 yesterday morning, WHO 13 reports.
Police say that the box truck was waiting to turn left from US-6/Hickman Road into Living History Farms at about 8:35 a.m., when it was struck from behind by a Buick Rendezvous.
The Buick's driver became pinned inside the vehicle. Emergency responders pulled her from the wreck and transported her to Methodist Hospital. Her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
We believe this was the accident that slowed traffic on US-6 yesterday morning. Traffic on the highway was reduced to a single lane as crews worked the scene, causing significant delays in the area.
