IOWA CITY, IA - A driver was injured after a man accidentally shot him with an air rifle.
KMOV4 reports that a 69-year-old man was attempting to shoot a squirrel from his home and accidentally shot a driver who was passing by.
The driver was hit in the head, causing him to lose control and crash his vehicle.
The man who shot the air rifle turned himself in after the incident. He was charged with hunting without a license and for violating an Iowa City code that prevents usage of air rifles and toy guns within city limits.
