News: 2 killed after vehicle hit by train in Linn Co.

FAIRFAX, IA - Two people were killed after a car was struck by a train in the Fairfax area on Sunday evening.

According to a report by ABC 17, the crash occurred at about 4:15 p.m. when the southbound vehicle was hit by an oncoming Union Pacific train.

The cause of the crash is not mentioned in the report.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
