News: Driver charged with OWI after crashing stolen vehicle in North Liberty

NORTH LIBERTY, IA - A woman was arrested on Tuesday after crashing a stolen vehicle while allegedly intoxicated, KCJJ reports.

At about 3:45 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Penn Street and Meade Drive, where the woman had crashed the stolen vehicle into a nearby parked car.

Police say the woman took the recently purchased vehicle without asking its owner, then fled to a nearby gas station, where she hit the other vehicle. She has been charged with First Offense OWI and Operating a Vehicle without Owner Consent.

Fortunately, it does not appear as though anyone was injured.
