WATERLOO, IA - One person was injured following a fiery car accident on Highway 218 on Monday afternoon.
The Courier reports that the vehicle began emitting smoke as it drove near the highway's intersection with Williston Avenue. It then slammed into a utility pole and caught fire.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, while paramedics transported one injured person to an area hospital.
The victim's current condition is unknown.
