News: Woman charged after hitting school bus in Spirit Lake

SPIRIT LAKE, IA - A woman is facing OWI charges after colliding with a school bus in Storm Lake on Thursday morning.

According to a report by Siouxland Proud, 23-year-old Shantara McDonald lost control of her vehicle on 120th Avenue and collided with a Storm Lake Community School District school bus.

McDonald was arrested after exhibiting signs of impairment at the scene. She was taken to the Buena Vista County Jail for further testing. She was held on $1,000 bond.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as an immediate result of the crash.
