DAVENPORT, IA -- Four people were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi tractor-trailer late Sunday night in west Davenport, according to KWQC.
Davenport Police Department said crews responded to the 3000 block of Rockingham Road at around 11:56 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a Freightliner semi tractor-trailer was heading eastbound on the road when its driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to hit a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. The semi continued traveling eastbound, striking a westbound Cadillac XTS and a westbound Chevrolet Equinox. It then crashed into a building at 3018 Rockingham Road before slamming into a residence on 3010 Rockingham Road.
Authorities said two occupants in the residence were hurt and transported to area hospitals. No updates have been released on their condition, but one victim was said to have suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the semi was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver.
