POLK COUNTY, IA -- A vehicle crash Thursday evening blocked both shoulders on Interstate 35 southbound near southeast Ankeny's Oralabor area, according to Stateside Iowa 511.
The collision took place on a stretch of the southbound lanes between East 1st Street at Exit 92 and Oralabor Road at Exit 90. It was first reported by Iowa 511 at 6:35 p.m.

Initially only the right shoulder was blocked, but by 6:46 p.m., the scene occupied both shoulders.

The roadway was announced cleared at 8:06 p.m., more than an hour and a half later, suggesting a serious accident and extended emergency response.
