DES MOINES, IA -- A vehicle collision Sunday evening blocked a left lane and both shoulders on Interstate 235 near the Douglas Acres neighborhood in northeast Des Moines, according to Stateside Iowa 511.
The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes between U.S. Highway 6 and East Euclid Avenue (Exit 12) and I-80 (Exit 137A). It was first reported by Iowa 511 at 5:10 p.m.
Only the shoulders were initially impacted, but by 5:17 p.m., the left lane was shut down.

At 5:49 p.m., nearly 40 minutes later, the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
