DES MOINES, IA -- A series of collisions were reported Friday morning on Interstate 235 near Des Moines' East Village area, according to Des Moines Police Department.
The accident occurred on the westbound lanes at East 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. It was first reported by DMPD shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Officers responded to two accidents in the area, though it was not immediately clear whether or how they were related.
Commuters were warned of a significant traffic backup heading into Downtown.
