DES MOINES, IA -- A driver was arrested early Sunday morning after leading a police pursuit and crashing a stolen vehicle in Des Moines, according to KCCI.
Des Moines Police Department said the events first unfolded on Interstate 80 but ended with a crash on 63rd Street.
An early investigation indicates police tried to pull over the driver on the interstate for multiple traffic violations, but the suspect continued driving, prompting a chase.
Authorities later learned the suspect was driving a stolen car, which eventually crashed near 63rd Street. After the crash, the suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended and booked into Polk County Jail.
No further information has been disclosed at this time, but police said the suspect now faces multiple charges.
