News: Driver dies after crash with semi near Corydon

WAYNE COUNTY, IA -- A 44-year-old Chariton man died Friday after a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck near Corydon, according to KCCI.

Iowa State Patrol said the fatal accident occurred after the male driver swerved in the path of an oncoming semi-truck.

The driver of the semi attempted to avoid the victim's car, but collided with the vehicle head-on.

ISP confirmed the victim died from his injuries at the scene. The semi driver was not reported hurt.

An investigation was underway.

As of this writing, authorities have not released further details confirming the exact time and location of the crash.
