JOHNSON COUNTY, IA -- A 27-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after a single-vehicle wreck that caused a minor injury to a toddler in Coralville, reports KCRG.
Police said the collision occurred off the intersection of Front Street Northeast and West Forevergreen Road, near North Central Junior High.
A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was driving southbound on Front Street when she failed to stop at a stop sign and lost control of her vehicle while turning east onto Forevergreen Road. The vehicle then collided with a tree in the front yard of a nearby residence.
The woman's 7-month-old child, who was in the backseat at the time of the accident, bumped their forehead in the crash, but it was unclear whether or not they required hospitalization.
Responding officers said the driver displayed signs of intoxication at the scene. A breath sample taken at the scene showed .133 BrAC.
The suspect now faces multiple charges, including "failure to provide proof of financial liability, operating under the influence, driving while barred, failure to obey a traffic control device and child endangerment."
