News: ISP trooper, two others hurt in crash at prior scene on I-29 near Loveland

POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, IA -- An Iowa State Patrol trooper and two others were injured Monday night at a prior crash scene on Interstate 29 near Loveland, reprots CBS2Iowa.

The trooper was responding to a single-vehicle wreck on the southbound interstate when a second crash occurred.

Authorities said a passing driver lost control of their vehicle, struck a guardrail, and then collided with the ISP patrol car at the prior crash site.

The trooper and driver of the second car sustained minor injuries, while a passenger was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No further information has been disclosed at this time, but an investigation was underway.
