News: Child hospitalized after being hit by driver near Davenport school

DAVENPORT, IA -- A child was injured Thursday afternoon in a pedestrian accident near Adams Elementary School in northwest Davenport, according to KWQC.

The incident took place in front of the school on West 29th Street, shortly after classes had been let out for the day.

Davenport police said the child was attempting to cross the road in the middle of the block, away from a marked crosswalk, when they were hit by a vehicle.

The young victim was taken to a nearby hospital but was not seriously hurt, according to authorities.

No further information has been released regarding the involved driver.
