WEST DES MOINES, IA -- A man was seriously hurt Sunday morning in a pedestrian crash while helping a broken-down semi-truck driver on Iowa Highway 5 in West Des Moines, reports KCCI.
Police said the incident occurred near Veterans Parkway shortly before noon.
An early investigation indicates one car slowed down as it approached the scene, but another vehicle did not. The second vehicle collided with the slowed car, which in turn hit the man.
As of this writing, authorities have not released further updates on the victim's condition.
