CEDAR RAPIDS, IA -- One person was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck near downtown Cedar Rapids, according to KCRG.
The collision took place in the 800 block of 5th Street Northeast and was first reported by KCRG at 9:40 a.m.
Details are limited, but the Independence Fire Department said a passenger car and a semi-truck collided in the area.
One person was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
A section of the road was shut down as crews worked to clear fluids that had leaked from both vehicles.
Motorists were instructed to detour around the area.
