DES MOINES, IA -- At least one person was injured Thursday morning in a vehicle accident near northeast Des Moines's Capitol Park neighborhood, according to Des Moines Police Department.
The collision occurred on East University Avenue at the East 14th Street intersection. It was first reported by DMPD at 6:49 a.m.
No details have been provided at this time, but all westbound lanes were temporarily shut down as Des Moines police and fire crews responded to the scene.
Motorists were warned of delays traveling through the area.
