News: One killed, one injured in head-on crash on Hwy 64 near Anamosa

JONES COUNTY, IA -- One person died Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident that injured another on Iowa Highway 64 near Anamosa, according to CBS Iowa.

Iowa State Patrol said the fatal crash happened shortly after a Toyota Corolla veered past the center line and into oncoming traffic.

The Corolla collided almost head-on with another vehicle before coming to a stop in the middle of the main travel lanes.

Authorities confirmed the driver of the Corolla, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, died as a result of their injuries.

First responders rushed the driver of the other car to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

No further information has been released on a possible cause of the crash.
