DES MOINES, IA - A utility pole in north Des Moines was cracked in half when it was struck by a vehicle on Sunday afternoon.
According to KCCI, the crash took place at about 2:45 p.m.in the 3900 block of 2nd Avenue near the intersection with Seneca Avenue.
The driver told police he lost control of the vehicle when it slid on a patch of ice and crashed into the pole, pulling wires down on top of the car.
Fortunately, both the driver and his passenger were uninjured.
