HENRY COUNTY, IA -- Three people were hospitalized early Friday morning after a multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 34 near Osceola, according to KWQC.
Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene near a construction zone at around 1:26 a.m.
Details are limited, but authorities said a 34-year-old woman was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra in the wrong direction when she collided head-on with a 2008 Ford 350 driven by a 55-year-old man.
The Elantra then proceeded to strike a 2007 Ram 1500 driven by a 75-year-old man, which caused the first driver to eject from her vehicle.
ISP said the drivers of the Elantra and the Ram 1500 were transported by airlift to the Iowa City hospital, while the driver of the Ford was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
No further updates have been released at this time, but an investigation remains ongoing.
