DAVIS COUNTY, IA -- A 79-year-old man died Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 63 near Bloomfield, according to KTVO.
Iowa State Patrol said the fatal accident occurred about six miles west of the city shortly before 7:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was behind the wheel of a pickup truck with an attached camper when he drove into the path of an oncoming semi-truck. Shortly after, the pickup collided with the driver's side of the semi.
ISP confirmed the victim, a Montezuma resident, died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the semi, a 47-year-old Central City man, was not reported hurt.
No further information has been released at this time, but an investigation was underway.
