DAVENPORT, IA -- A 21-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection in northeast Davenport, reports WQAD.
Davenport Police Department said officers responded to the scene at the corner of East Kimberly Road and Bridge Avenue at around 7:00 p.m.
The circumstances behind the incident are still being investigated, but authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a driver in a 2013 Mazda 3 traveling eastbound on Kimberly Road.
The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a state hospital. No updates on his condition have been released as of this writing.
An investigation was underway.
