CEDAR RAPIDS, IA -- A College Community School District bus caught fire Tuesday morning in Cedar Rapids, forcing 35 juvenile passengers to evacuate, according to KCRG.
Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after 8:40 a.m. and quickly put out the flames.
An early investigation indicates the bus driver was on his morning pickup route when he noticed his brake warning light flash on. He soon observed a fire, prompting him to immediately pull over and evacuate all children off the bus.
Authorities said all passengers were evaluated at the scene and another time on campus. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, but an investigation remains ongoing.
