News: 3 injured when driver falls asleep, crashes on I-29 in Mills County

MILLS COUNTY, IA - According to Iowa State Patrol, three people were hurt when a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed Saturday.

A 28-year-old male was driving a Ford SUV north on I-29 when he fell asleep and crashed into a ditch. The driver then overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times before coming to rest on its roof.

Rescue crews transported the driver and two passengers, a 22-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, to an area hospital.

None of the vehicle's three occupants wore a seatbelt during the collision.
