News: Police arrest driver who hit pedestrian at Crow Tow

DES MOINES, IA - According to We Are Iowa, authorities have arrested the hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian at 826 SE 21st St Wednesday.

An 18-year-old woman was picking up her car from Crow Tow without paying the fine when she crashed through two fences at around 10:40 a.m. The second fence struck a 48-year-old female pedestrian. The driver then left the scene of the accident.

Rescue crews transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with head injuries.

Authorities located and arrested the driver Friday around 5:50 a.m. They charged her with first and second-degree Criminal Mischief, Serious Injury By Vehicle, and Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident.
