News: 4 hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash near Minnesota border

LAKOTA, IA - A multi-vehicle collision just south of the Minnesota border on Saturday left four people seriously injured, according to KCAU.

The crash happened at the intersection of 170th Avenue and 420th Street at about 4:50 p.m.

Investigators say one vehicle failed to stop at the intersection and collided with another at a high rate of speed. Both vehicles careened off the road, one into a ditch, and the other into a crop field.

One of the vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash. Fortunately, both occupants were able to get out before first responders arrived.

In total, four people were taken to an area hospital for the treatment of severe and incapacitating injuries.
